Whether you prefer to start your weekend with a cappuccino, a bloody mary, or a relaxing massage, Santa Monica’s Main Street has it all. You could spend days popping in and out of all of the area’s restaurants, bars and boutiques, so we’ve created a little list to help you start by exploring the best of the best.

Santa Monica Farmer’s Market

Santa Monica is home to four year-round farmers markets—our favorite happens to be on Sundays on Main Street. In addition to fresh, Southern California produce, face painting, live music and cooking demonstrations are common. Main Street Farmers Market: 2640 Main St.; 310-458-8712

Gourmet Food Trucks

On Tuesday nights, food trucks line up by the California Heritage Museum for a weekly food truck fest. Grab a picnic blanket and find a spot on the museum’s lawn to enjoy a range of unique cuisines. Regular options  include seafood tacos from The Surfer Taco, or coconut curry and samosas from India Jones Chow Truck. Afterwards, use your food truck fix as fuel for an educational experience at the California Heritage Museum. California Heritage Museum: 2612 Main Street; 310-392-8537

The Now

Need some help shaking out a few aches and pains after a long day of travel? Head to The Now for a little rest and relaxation. They offer all kinds of wonderful services, from a quick, 25-minute foot massage if you’re short on time, to an 80-minute deep tissue with heat therapy. If you ask us, it’s always best to start a vacation off with total “me time.” The Now: 2407 Main St.; 310-310-2914

Via Veneto

Named after one of the most famous, elegant streets of Rome, Italy, Main Street’s Via Veneto offers organic, locally sourced Italian food in a romantic setting. All pasta is handmade and perfectly cooked. Regulars recommend the pan roasted rack of Sonoma lamb, and the gnocchi. Via Veneto: 3009 Main St.; 310-399-1843

Espresso Cielo

This bright and cheery neighborhood coffee shop is known for its expertly prepared espresso, coffees and exotic teas. Stop by on your way to the beach for a pastry and a pick-me-up. Espresso Cielo: 3101 Main St.; 310-314-9999
