A trip to Santa Monica isn’t complete without spending a little bit of time at one of our fabulous parks. Whether you’re looking to play a game of volleyball, hit the tennis courts, or grill out with the family, you have plenty of options in the city. Enjoy some greenery, at one of Santa Monica’s best parks.

Palisades Park

Situated on the bluffs running parallel to I-405, Palisades Park offers  killer views of the ocean, the Santa Monica Pier, and the beach. Locals recommend going around dusk so that you can catch all of those views set against a cotton candy sunset

Pacific Park

This isn’t your traditional city park with green space and baseball fields. Pacific Park is Santa Monica’s famous oceanfront amusement park filled with rides, games, and sweet treats. It may not be as relaxing as a trip to Palisades Park, but it’ll likely make you feel like a carefree kid again.

Tongva Park

Tongva Park is currently hosting an ongoing series of intimate and informal events featuring dance, music, and art. Past exhibitions have included art made by locals of indigenous heritage, and audio-theater meditation experiences.

Christine Emerson Reed Park

Just a mile south of The Ambrose, Christine Emerson Park is often the site of local festivals and events. Catch the “Buy Local Health & Fitness Festival” on September 9. Local businesses will be providing health screenings and free product samples, while fitness trainers will offer engaging, interactive classes and healthy lifestyle advice.

Ocean View Park

The name sort of says it all. Play a game of pick-up hoops, or challenge a friend to a tennis match at this bustling, oceanfront park. When you’re tired of being athletic, walk a couple blocks for brunch at one of Santa Monica’s prime celebrity hotspots– Urth Caffe.

Marine Park

We like Marine Park for its reservable, open air auditorium and well-equipped picnic amenities. Bring a few ‘dogs to grill on the communal barbecues, and settle in for an evening of lawn games and s’mores.
